Schlumberger, EnerVenue partner for Nickle-Hydrogen energy storage solutions

Schlumberger New Energy today (8th September) has entered an agreement with EnerVenue for metal-hydrogen stationary energy storage solutions.

Schlumberger has signed an investment and collaboration agreement to deploy EnerVenue’s nickel-hydrogen battery technology. Both partners will work together to progress the large-scale deployment of nickel-hydrogen battery technology in key global markets. The agreement will provide Schlumberger with access to the fast-growing stationary energy storage solutions market through differentiated technology.

Energy storage solutions are crucial for the evolution of the energy mix, and it has been growing fast. The focus on electrification is supporting the growth for large scale deployment of stationary energy storage solutions such as utility-scale grid storage, off-grid commercial and industrial storage, and residential sectors.

Ashok Belani, Executive VP, Schlumberger New Energy, said, “At Schlumberger, we’re eager to leverage our technology expertise and global footprint in introducing EnerVenue’s technology to this important emerging market.”

Jorg Heinemann, CEO, EnerVenue, commented, “We look forward to supporting Schlumberger’s new energy vision and to working with the company to bring our battery technology to organizations across the world.”

Schlumberger is a technology provider in the global energy industry, whereas EnerVenue provides energy storage for clean energy.

Schlumberger is also a partner in Genvia, a clean hydrogen production technology venture created under a private-public partnership model. The initiative will mature and industrialise the next generation of electrolyser technology to produce hydrogen without CO2 emissions.
